Connecticut Divorce, Family Law, and Criminal Defense attorney Matthew A. Crockett is a former Judge and former state prosecutor with extensive trial experience. He is a career litigator.
Matthew is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and a combat veteran of the Iraq war. As a criminal prosecutor, military legal assistance attorney, military defense attorney, and military judge, Matthew has experienced and excelled in diverse roles all in the pursuit of justice.
Since joining the McConnell Family Law Group he has limited his practice to matrimonial, family law, and criminal law.

- Q. my bf back home in ct just got arrested for "criminal violence of protective order df" bond is 5k. how serious is this?
- A: Violations of any order of protection (e.g. restraining, standing, or protective) are treated seriously in Connecticut by the fact that these offenses are D felonies which carry possible jail of up to 5 years. However, how the offense will be viewed by prosecutors and judges depends on many factors. For example, was the order violated by simple contact or by violence? Does your boy friend have a long criminal history, specifically in family violence cases? All of these kinds of factors, plus many more, can affect possible sanctions for this offense IF convicted. Speaking to an attorney is therefore advisable.
