Mark P. Bryant has practiced in his hometown of Paducah, Kentucky since graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1973. Mr. Bryant is a product of the Paducah, Kentucky city schools, Paducah Community College, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Kentucky College of Law.

Mark Bryant is a past president of the Kentucky Commonwealth's Attorneys Association; an Eagle Scout; on the board of the Four Rivers Counsel, Boy Scouts of America, and; in 1986 was selected to receive the Outstanding Commonwealth's Attorney in Kentucky award, the highest honor bestowed by the Kentucky Commonwealth's Attorneys Association.

In 1989, he was selected by the Jackson Purchase Lodge, Fraternal Order of Police, as citizen of the year and was awarded by the Paducah/ McCracken County Child Watch for outstanding service to the children of Paducah and McCracken County.

Mark P. Bryant served as First Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in McCracken County from 1974 until 1977 and was elected three times as Commonwealthâs Attorney, serving from 1977 until 1990. During that time, he was appointed by the Attorney General of Kentucky as Special Assistant Attorney General of Kentucky. As a prosecutor, Mr. Bryantâs areas of special interest were homicide, sex crimes, illegal drugs and crimes against children.

Mr. Bryant was appointed to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Counsel and the Kentucky Crime Commission by Governor Julian M. Carroll; to the Governor's Task Force on Crime by Governor John Y. Brown; the Kentucky Jail Standards Commission by Governor Brown; and the Kentucky Child Abuse Prevention Board by Governor Martha Layne Collins. The Chief Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court, Hon. Robert F. Stephens, appointed Mr. Bryant to the Supreme Court of Kentucky Criminal Rules Committee where he served with Hon. Frank Haddad and Hon. William Johnson.

Upon entering private practice, Mr. Bryant focused upon criminal defense work for several years. Gradually, the focus of Mr. Bryant's practice evolved and he now focuses upon civil personal injury and wrongful death litigation on behalf of victims, and criminal defense. Mark Bryant has lectured on a variety of civil and criminal litigation related topics for the Kentucky Bar Association and the Kentucky Trial Lawyers Association. He has also appeared as a guest on the Larry King Live Show. He is a Life Member of the National Registry of Who's Who. in 2012 Mr. Bryant was selected by the readership of the Paducah Sun as the best attorney in the region.




Mark is married to Sue Austin Bryant. They have three children: Jennifer, a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, Jefferson District Judge in Louisville and a member of the Florida and Kentucky Bar Associations; Jeff, a graduate of Murray State University. a resident of Orlando, Florida and an employee of The Walt Disney Company; and David, a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law and a Plaintiff's Lawyer in Louisville.

Mr. Bryant has been rated AV by his peers, the highest rating given to a lawyer by the Martindale-Hubbell lawyer rating service. The Bryant Firm is also recognized in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. He has been selected by the American Trial Lawyers Association as one of the top 100 trial lawyers in Kentucky.

Mark Bryant is one of the most celebrated trial lawyers in the region, concentrating in criminal defense (state and federal court) and civil trials. He defends corporations and individuals accused of white collar crimes; individuals charged with violent crimes; and professionals, including medical doctors and lawyers, faced with various allegations in the civil, administrative and criminal courts. Mr. Bryant has defended many clients charged with capital murder and facing the death penalty. None were convicted of murder or sentenced to death.

Mark Bryant has been admitted as a member in the Million Dollar Advocates forum. Membership in the forum is limited to trial lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional skill, experience, and excellence in advocacy by achieving a trial verdict, award or settlement in the amount of one million dollars or more.
