I grew up on the shores of Sebec Lake in rural Maine. I attended Princeton University and then returned to Maine with the intention of practicing law. My entire 15 year career has been spent in the Courtroom litigating criminal cases - first as a prosecutor and now for 10 years defending persons charged with crimes in both State and Federal Courts throughout the State.

I have been practicing immigration law in the mid-coast region of Maine since 2013, after almost 20 years working in natural resources conservation law and policy. My interest in immigration is both professional and personal. I was a landed immigrant (permanent resident) of Canada for several years and, after returning to the U.S. adopted both of my children internationally. I love learning and working across cultures and am a strong believer in the need to attract new immigrants to this region.

Catherine joined Jones, Kuriloff & Sargent, LLC in March of 2016. Prior to that, she operated her own law practice in Ellsworth, Maine, where she worked with clients on real estate, probate, and civil matters. She worked at Sandra Hylander Collier Law Offices from 1997 until 2010, where she carried out real estate transactions, drafted estate planning documents, authored appellate briefs, and handled small business law. Meryl is a Maine native and attended Colby College and the University of Maine School of Law. At Maine Law school, Meryl distinguished herself as an appellate advocate, winning the distinction of "Prize Arguer" in her class and the Gignoux Award for Appellate Advocacy. Meryl was a part of two moot court teams that competed on a national level. In her third year, she and her moot court partner finished in the top three of a competition of more than forty. Ross is a former prosecutor with extensive courtroom litigation experience. Ross has spent over 18 years in both Maine and Texas practicing as a criminal lawyer. I was born to extreme poverty, raised by a single parent until age 11, in a foster home until 18. I put myself through College, served 3 years in the Kentucky National Guard, 4 years on active duty in the US Army, left the Army to attend law school at the University of Louisville, started my own practice shortly after law school.
