I have been practicing primarily Family Law for over 30 years. I feel that, like a choosing a doctor, the choice of an attorney to help you to nagivate through the sometimes rough waters of a divorce, placement or custody matter is crucial, so that the waves are more gentle. In so many cases, just a little common sense and a voice of reason can calm the tides before they escalate, which leads to a more efficient resolution.

After working in a firm for the first four years out of law school, Candice opened her own law practice in Sparta, Wisconsin. While she thoroughly enjoyed the six years she spent working across multiple counties and a wide range of legal areas, Candice sought and received a judicial appointment to complete a term as La Crosse County Circuit Court Branch 5 Judge. Now that her term has concluded, Candice has returned to private practice with increased skill and knowledge to better serve her clients.

Anne Schmiege grew up on a potato farm outside of Antigo, Wisconsin. After taking five years off between college and law school to work at an insurance company and to teach English abroad, she graduated from Hamline University School of Law in 2003, summa cum laude.
