Brian Burke graduated from the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina in 1995. After graduation, he went on to attend the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and served as a police officer in Cayce and Mt. Pleasant. When he suffered a back injury, Brian decided to attend law school, and enrolled at the University of South Carolina School of Law. Following his graduation from law school, he clerked for The Honorable James C. Williams of the South Carolina Circuit Court. He brings his invaluable experience as former law enforcement to his criminal defense cases.

Prior to forming the Law Office of Robert W. Harrell, III L.L.C., Trey Harrell was an associate at a prominent law firm, where his practiced focused on Criminal Defense and Personal Injury. Additionally, Trey has courtroom experience as an assistant solicitor for the First Judicial Circuit and a former Law Clerk to the Honorable JC Nicholson, Jr.

C. Austin Elliott is a native of Texas and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He attended Charleston School of Law and has practiced in the Charleston area since 2011, successfully representing hundreds of individuals and businesses throughout the Lowcountry.

Brian attended the College of Charleston on a full athletic scholarship and graduated in 1994 with his Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2000, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. After law school, Brian was appointed the Assistant Attorney General by the South Carolina Attorney General Charlie Condon. Brian prosecuted numerous criminal charges, including some of the most severe. As a former prosecutor, he has a unique insight into how criminal charges are handled, and how to effectively litigate in court. Chad Shelton is a graduate of Valparaiso University and the Charleston School of Law. After law school, he was soon admitted to the South Carolina Bar and to the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. In 2007, Chad joined the Berkeley County Public Defender’s office. He worked for nine years at the public defender’s office. Jack Sinclaire was raised in the Charleston area. After graduating from Porter-Gaud School in 1977, he obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1984.

Paul R. Thurmond, founding partner, leads the firm’s criminal defense practice. Before starting the firm in 2005, he served as an assistant solicitor with the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Charleston, S.C.
