When I was about 12, my mother asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I responded with “I want to be a writer and a lawyer.” I really did not know what either was, but it turned out to be true.
My mother’s father passed away when I was 12. We were all mystified, but my mother was grief-stricken. I was able to see at a young age that if the BUSINESS of aging and...

That event sparked in her a life-long passion for law, an interest that she would continue to foster for years to come. During that summer, she attended a course where a local attorney discussed landlord/tenant law. For Doss, that encounter was...

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues? I believe that one of my roles as an attorney is to educate my clients about their case. For clients to make decisions about their lives, they need to understand the legal issues in their lawsuits. They need to know what their rights are, what their options are, and what different things to expect both during the process of the lawsuit and as possible outcomes. It is my job to discuss these matters with my clients and to educate them.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?...
