Although Collin grew up in Green Bay, the Mettelka family has been part of the Vilas County community since 1938, when his Great-Great Grandfather, John J. Mettelka, built a cabin in Plum Lake, Wisconsin. Since that time, his family has maintained strong roots in Vilas County.

Tim Greenwood grew up in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, before moving to Oshkosh for undergraduate, and then Milwaukee to attend Marquette University Law School.
