I am a criminal defense lawyer in Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area. I represent clients charged with general misdemeanors, felonies, DUI, drug offenses, seizures and forfeitures, probation violations, orders of protection, and within appeals.

I started my career in the justice system as a police officer for 16 years. I move to the District Attorney's office after graduating from law school. I was team leader in the vehicular crimes division. In 2000 began my career in private practice. I am now a partner at May & Ryan, PLC we do litigation work mainly in the criminal defense arena with an added emphasis on DUI defense.

Arthur Bass graduated from the University of Tennessee law school, receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 1975. He has practiced law for 41 years, providing quality legal services for reasonable fees to the people of Bradley County and the surrounding counties of southeast Tennessee. He has handled cases in all the local state courts as well as the Tennessee Court of Appeals and the Tennessee Supreme Court.
