Mr. Shaffer is a native of Steubenville,Ohio. He is married to Arlene B. Angel-Shaffer, Esq. who is currently retired. His daughter, Sarah and her husband are both Registered Nurses. They are the proud parents of three sons. His oldest son, Daniel is a student at Carlow Univerity and working at HVL Laboratories. His younger son, Joseph is currently serving in the United States Air Force.

Craig W. Smotzer’s career as an advocate for the accused began after his graduation from Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.

Having been born and raised in the Cleveland area, and after his undergraduate education at The Ohio State University, he returned home to attend law school.
