I am a principal in an 11 member law firm and I have been practicing for 30 years. I concentrate my practice on bankruptcy law, commercial litigation, restructurings, and business disputes . I represent individuals and small to medium size businesses in a variety of legal proceedings . I have confirmed reorganzation plans for many dozens of individuals and businesses in the District of Conn. bankruptcy courts and have counselled people through the difficult process of financial restructuring.

I graduated Cum Laude with my J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1974. After many years of practicing law, I founded Ruane Attorneys at Law, LLC, a criminal defense law firm based in Connecticut, in 2001 with my son Jay Ruane. Our practice areas include criminal defense, DUI defense, juvenile defense, civil rights, and other areas of criminal law.
