Board Member and Chairman of a Committee which got a Bill passed by the Texas Legislature

Activities: I was a member for about 20 years; I started and headed a committee which over three years, was able to get Legislation passed, limiting what healthcare providers could charge patients and attorneys for medical and billing records, correcting abuse by some doctors who charged outrageous amounts to patients for copies of their own records. I was assisted by my fellow member, now District Judge, Robert Schaffer. We made many trips to Austin. I wrote the original Bill, which as usual saw a number of changes, but amazingly was passed and signed into law. I also worked on a number of other projects for the HTLA.
