
Robert L. Siems
Maryland Insurance LawyerRobert L. Siems, J.D., M.B.A., CPCU founded the Law Offices of Robert L. Siems in 1999 in Baltimore. Bob is an experienced and highly regarded trial lawyer and insurance lawyer. He has also managed major-exposure, extra-contractual, and bad faith cases for two Fortune 500 insurers.
Among many other high-profile positions, Bob served as an officer and claims counsel at USF&G and at St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company. At those companies, he helped develop the companies’ legal teams and nationwide large-loss-exposure case-management programs. Bob designed both companies’ extra-contractual and bad faith case-management programs, managed all extra-contractual litigation, and served as claims counsel for the Special Investigative Unit (SIU).
Bob received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law, completed the Executive M.B.A. program at Loyola College, and holds a CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters) certification. He writes and lectures for the Defense Research Institute, the Maryland Association of Defense Trial Lawyers, the Maryland Institute of Continuing Programs for the Education of Lawyers (MICPEL), and the National Business Institute.
Bob founded the Law Offices of Robert L. Siems in 1999 to use his expertise in insurance law and bad faith litigation in a wider environment. Since then, he has continued to teach, advise, and litigate in Baltimore and around the country. His clients benefit from his unique expertise in the insurance industry and the courtroom and his years as a teacher and student of insurance law and business.
