Moseley Matheson
Let Us Be Your Defender
Mr. Matheson is a former prosecutor who is dedicated to zealously advocating for his clients. He practices exclusively criminal defense, and limits his practice to only Wake County.
Attorney Matheson has substantial criminal law experience, not only as a private defense attorney, but also his previous work with the Harnett County District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney, the A.C.L.U. Capital Punishment Project and the Durham County Public Defender's Office.
Recently, Mr. Matheson was asked by the North Carolina Bar Association to serve as the Managing Editor of the N.C. Criminal Law Desk Book. Additionally, he wrote both the ‘Driving While Impaired Defense’ and the ‘First Offenders’ chapters of the book. This book is provided by the N.C.B.A. as a resource to attorneys looking to get into the Criminal Defense practice in North Carolina.
Attorney Matheson has also recently been honored as a ‘Top 100 Trial Lawyers’ by The National Trial Lawyers organization as well as a ‘Top 10 Best in Client Satisfaction’ by the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys.
In his spare time, Mr. Matheson enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters and their rescue dogs. He can also be found restoring and fabricating cars, as well as volunteering with the Capital Area Teen Court program.
