Monica Courtney Trombley
I help clients understand what the contracts say in plain English
I’m not the typical lawyer...I’m also a freelance film producer, creative professional (actress/singer/writer/model/host) and a former partner in a small indie film company. I’ve walked in fashion shows, worked on film sets, acted in plays, had creative representation and taken various classes in the creative world so not only have I handled entertainment as an attorney but I also know firsthand about the artistic side AND the production side.
Oh, and I have a sense of humor which may explain my having a blog called “The Angry Redheaded Lawyer” and a podcast called "The Gorgeous Ginger Lawyer".
In case you couldn’t tell, entertainment is my passion. I also happen to be the first person in my family to attend ANY law school and the first in my immediate family to go to college so you won’t find legalese, pretension or a God complex here. Most people don’t think I’m a lawyer unless they hear me speak.
If the typical stuffy elitist lawyers aren’t your thing, you’ll probably get along famously with me since I may despise the elitism more than my own client base does.
However, I don’t do litigation or work for free. I’ve been doing this for over 12 years in NYC and have paid my dues. Don’t approach me unless you are serious about getting good counsel and respect the business relationship.
