Lawrence M. Daugherty is a sole practitioner licensed attorney at law limiting his practice to CONSERVATORSHIPS and TRUSTS (both trust creation as well as assistance to trustees in trust administration). He has been in continual practice since 1974. His office is located at 901 So. State Street, Suite 200 (at the corner of State and Johnston), Hemet, CA 92543-7127 Telephone (951) 925-0516.
First time callers who telephone the office (951/925-0516) will be pleased to receive a prompt call back directly from Mr. Daugherty himself to address their concerns. All conferences will be with Mr. Daugherty and not with an inexperienced junior associate attorney, paralegal or other support staff.
Appointments are also available on weekends and evenings for adult children or family members of proposed conservatees. In some cases, the client(s) may be here only a short time from outside the Hemet area, and time is urgent to start the process to obtain conservatorship appointment and protection. It can be especially urgent in cases where a financial predator is already actively working on draining away the proposed conservatee's financial estate.
Mr. Daugherty's PRIMARY CONCERNS are making the client comfortable with the legal process by patiently and thoroughly explaining the legal process involved (in plain English, not "legalese"), and by keeping him or her informed of the status of the case; and also by completing all work promptly.
RETURNING CLIENTS' TELEPHONE CALLS PROMPTLY is considered a top priority and Mr. Daugherty's daily motto is: "The sun shall set on no client's unreturned telephone call."
The client will be made to feel comfortable in freely calling Mr. Daugherty as frequently as he or she wishes, no matter how minor the client may think the question or concern is.
Conservatorships are a particularly complex proceeding (Mr. Daugherty likens the process to "going through probate while you are alive"). Since it is almost always unfamiliar territory for the client/conservator, Mr. Daugherty goes to great effort to EDUCATE AND GUIDE the client/conservator not only in the beginning, but all along the way as the case progresses.
Please visit his website www.LawrenceMDaugherty.com for more information or call (951) 925-0516. (There is one important ETHICAL LIMITATION in conservatorship cases: an attorney may not represent a conservator in a matter involving the imposition of a conservatorship on a present or former client of the attorney. Therefore, if the person who is the proposed conservatee is one of Mr. Daugherty's present or former clients, Mr. Daugherty cannot assist in bringing a conservatorship.)
