Legal Answers
161 Questions Answered
- Q. Can I sue after car accident if driving with suspended license in VA?
- A: Yes. Your prior driving records is irrelevant and inadmissible.
It will not affect your claim with the insurance carrier or right to pursue a recovery in litigation.
- Q. Can I pursue action against a landlord for tenant's dangerous dogs?
- A: Dogs are considered personal property. It is only when a person is injured that there can be a recovery for non-economic damages. You can only recover from the landlord if their homeowners’ policy liability coverage applies to the dogs. You can try sending a letter outlining your damages and the restitution order for them to forward to the insurance carrier. They bear responsibility for allowing dangerous animals to remain on their property after being given notice that they are doing damage to others.
- Q. Seeking attorney for worker's comp appeal in Virginia, initial case denied wage loss, need help with Opening Brief.
- A: Good luck. You are seeking representation much too late in the process with little to no chance of a fee being awarded.
