Former Prosecutor with over 20 years experience - Here to Listen & Help You!
I am a former Colorado felony prosecutor with over 25 years legal experience. I am and here here to listen and help you with your criminal defense, family law issues and child custody cases.
I take pride in getting to know about my clients and their lives, so the prosecution and courts don't just treat them like a number. I don't shuffle my clients off to younger associates. I personally handle all my cases. I am a zealous and passionate advocate for all my clients, many of whom stay in contact with me after their cases are completed.
After graduating college, I worked as an investigative reporting covering police and courts, including major criminal and civil cases and police investigations. This led me to transition in 1993 to law school.
I began my career as a prosecutor in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office. After honing my trial and negotiation skills in county and felony court, in 2000 I moved to the Denver metro area, and was hired as a felony prosecutor in the Family Violence Unit in the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office.
I served as a felony prosecutor handling major criminal cases until 2007, when I was hired as a Senior Attorney and Director of Investigations with Qwest Communications, a Fortune 500 telecom company. After Qwest was purchased by Century Link, I returned to the District Attorney's Office in Jefferson County, where I served in felony court and the Special Victims Unit and was on the officer's homicide case rotation.
In 2014, I left the District Attorney's Office and brought my extensive trial and litigation experience to my own law firm. In 2016, I became partners with Todd Narum, an experienced and well-skilled family and criminal defense attorney whom I had tried a case against while a prosecutor.
Todd and I co-manage a boutique law firm and pride ourselves on providing personal attention to all our clients. We are here to listen and help you.

- Q. if I entered into a plea agreement and the DA who made the plea agreement died, should my case get reconsidered?
- A: The short answer is no. The main issue is whether you entered your plea knowingly and voluntarily, which paperwork you signed and the actual court record will indicate.
Sometimes pleas can be withdrawn if exculpatory evidence (evidence that is of benefit to the defense) was withheld from you before plea.
But death of a prosecutor or other court officer (judge, your own attorney) is irrelevant to whether you can withdraw a plea.
- Q. Hi I had a civil order of protection against me in Colorado and it was dismissed. Can I legally contact my ex
- A: Good day. Sorry you have this confusion but also not sure what you are asking. It sounds like the court and sheriff have already told you there is no criminal or civil protection order prohibiting contact.
However, you say that they also informed you, which seems accurate, that if you contact, harass, threaten, intimidate, follow this person against her desire you may face new criminal charges and a criminal protection order and/or she could pursue a civil protection order against you.
- Q. Boyfriend was accused of SA to a child in 2019.
- A: sorry to hear this. Do you have a question or are you seeking legal counsel for him?
