Claimed Lawyer ProfileQ&ASocial MediaResponsive Law

Throughout my 8+ year criminal defense career, I have represented over 800 clients charged with felony criminal offenses and more than a 1000 clients charged with misdemeanors. Legal representation included trying cases to verdict, arguing motions to the court and advocating for clients at sentencing. The charges brought against my clients ranged from DUIs and disorderly conduct to aggravated kidnapping and murder. My experience includes extensive training in courtroom techniques from my employment at The Salt Lake Legal Defender Association and my participation in the National Criminal Defense College. With my extensive courtroom experience, I provide excellent representation to clients regardless of the level offense or type of crime charged.

2 Questions Answered
Q. was charged with possession 58-37-8(2)(D) and use or possession 58-37A-5(1) both misdemeanors. in SLC,UT what to expect?
A: Both of these charges have a maximum punishment of 180 days in jail, but you should not expect jail time. If you are convicted you should expect to lose your license for 6 months and to be ordered to do a substance abuse assessment and treatment. You should talk to an attorney about possible motions to suppress, trial defenses and ways to avoid the collateral consequences of a conviction.
Q. How much does a Lawyer usually cost for Drug offenses?
A: I agree with Mr. Cramer and Mr. Branum. I would also point out that it depends on the type of crime and level of offense. If you are charged in Federal Court with distribution then the cost is very different from being in possession of marijuana. Call a few attorneys and ask under your specific circumstances what the cost would be.
