Charles Watts
Charles L. Watts, PLLC
Charles grew up in a family construction business and has been dealing with contracts and legal issues for over 30 years. He went to law school to reduce cost in the business, however during this time found a new passion in helping people through the legal hurdles that we all face at some point in time in our life.
Charles has been married to his wife Gina since 2003 and they have an adopted daughter whom they have had since birth. Actually since day one, as they were in the birthing room when she was born. Going through the adoption process has given us insight and experience from the clients view and understand the stress that comes along with an adoption, not to mention they have also undergone the stress of three failed IVF rounds, so understanding that stress and expense is nothing new to them either.
Charles focuses mostly on Family Law issues, such as Guardianships, Divorce, Custody or Visitation, and Adoptions. However, he is also very adept with Construction Law, general Business Law, and Tax Law.

- Q. Lawyer unresponsive in divorce case; not providing files
- A: You can hire a new attorney to file an entry on your behalf and they will be able to get all the information from the opposing counsel or from the court. Alternatively, you can file a termination of attorney with the court and then you can represent yourself pro se and the opposing counsel can then work with you directly. As far as the invoices are concerned, you may have to have the other attorney help you with this and/or file a complaint with the Bar Association. Good luck
- Q. Lack of lawyer communication after rear-ended by drunk driver in OK
- A: Sorry for your inconvenience during this time. First thing is if you are dissatisfied with the lawyer you currently have, then you are well within your rights to terminate their representation and hire a new lawyer. The new lawyer should be able to get the information from the original lawyer. You can also file a complaint with the Bar Association regarding the lack of communication from the original lawyer.
- Q. Can I list a property after the previous agent acknowledged cancellation via text, without signing a referral fee with the original broker?
- A: In most instances, the original listing agent has a clause in their contract granting them a fee if the house is sold within a certain time frame. The removal of the listing itself is not a definitive withdrawal of representation. The seller needs to get a complete written release from the listing agent before you do anything otherwise, they can possibly recover fees from the seller.
