Bruce McIver
After teaching at the college level for over 25 years, Bruce McIver decided to take up the mantle of the law. He was reluctant to give up the security of his position, but took a chance and attended law school, graduating with honors and being admitted to the practice of law by the California Bar. While he enjoyed his years of teaching Shakespeare at Reed College, Union College, UCLA, UCSB, and the University of Ljubljana, he wanted to help people of a different ages, and in different ways, mindful of his clients' needs to manage their estates. Hence, he began an exclusive practice as an estate planning attorney, working with clients to help them plan to distribute their estates to their beneficiaries seamlessly, without a court proceeding, and with a minimum of cost. Since he began his practice in 2014, McIver has assisted scores of individuals and couples from all walks of life and of modest as well as substantial levels of wealth. He treats them equally with respect and patience. He has been invited to give talks at various legal associations, including the Association of Legal Professionals and the Santa Barbara Paralegals Association. He has published over a dozen articles on Literature and Law in the Santa Barbara Lawyer Magazinee. He has volunteered for over ten years as a teen court judge and given talks on careers goals to junior and senior high school students for the Santa Barbara Partners in Education Progam.
