Annette Dawson-Davis, Attorney at Law
Annette Dawson-Davis, B.S., M.Ed., J.D.
MY STORY:
After my father, Howard Q. Dawson, Sr.-Major USAF, died, I found his trust was not well-written. My dad was sold an estate plan by a large corporation based in another state. These corporations are called "Trust Mills," which give accountants and financial advisors large referral fees to recommend their services to clients. The attorney that prepared the trust did not take the time to make sure all of the important details and contingencies were covered. The attorney did not stand behind the product and was not available to help when problems arose. Next, I retained a lawyer that was recommended to me by another attorney. The lawyer did nothing until I requested a refund. Without offering any help, he wrote me a letter that claimed he had used the entire retainer to review the file. The letter he wrote to me cost me $1,000.00. That is why I have selected estate planning, trust administration, and probate for my areas of practice, because I believe individual attention and communication is the key to a successful estate plan.
MY PRACTICE:
As a trusted probate attorney in Camarillo, CA, my skill and knowledge as an estate and trust lawyer will help guide individuals and families through comprehensive and personalized estate planning. I prepare comprehensive estate plans tailored to individual needs for a flat fee with no hidden charges. I treat people the way I would like to be treated, with honesty and integrity. I quote fair prices and complete the work I start. I have deep roots in Ventura County and I care about my community. My Great, Great Grandfather was the first elected justice of the peace on the Oxnard Plain. I teach classes at the Camarillo Health Care District on the ABC’s of Estate Planning. It is my goal and pleasure to teach people about wills and trust so that they do not have to go through what I did to administer my father’s estate.
