Amy Hargis
Raizner Slania, LLP
Amy Hargis is a Partner at Raizner Slania, where she spends the majority of her time focusing on insurance bad faith litigation, while also pursuing personal injury claims on behalf of victims across the country.
After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies at Texas A&M University in 2008, Ms. Hargis attended South Texas College of Law where she graduated with magna cum laude honors in 2011. While in law school, she was a Dean’s Merit Scholar and served both as the Note and Comment Editor for the South Texas Law Review and the Managing Student Editor for the Construction Law Journal. She was active in the advocacy program and earned five CALI Excellence Awards for her academic performance in the classroom. Upon graduation with honors, she was admitted to practice in 2011.
Prior to joining the Raizner Slania legal team, Ms. Hargis was an Associate Attorney at an estate planning and probate firm and in 2012 went to work as an Associate with Doyle Raizner, LLP where she represented injured consumers across the country and also worked on one of the nation’s most successful mass tort dockets against an international pharmaceutical company. Ms. Hargis currently works on a nationwide docket of insurance disputes involving hotels, office buildings, churches, and other buildings, and represents individuals who have been harmed through no fault of their own. Ms. Hargis is committed to the firm philosophy of achieving the best possible results in the shortest amount of time on behalf of the firm’s clients.
Active with various professional associations, she serves on the Editorial Board of The Houston Lawyer, a Houston Bar Association publication, and is a member of the Young Alumni Council at South Texas College of Law. She is also actively involved in the community, supporting local organizations and events in the Houston Heights, volunteering at Houston’s First Baptist Church, and serving as a Board Member of Young Friends of DePelchin.
