After receiving a bachelor's degree in psychology from Indiana University in 1979, I moved to Dallas to attend law school. I obtained my law degree from Southern Methodist University in 1982. I was in private practice until I joined the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office in 1985. I was assigned to the newly formed juvenile division in 1988, becoming the supervising attorney in 1995, and remained there until 2008 when I returned to private practice. The focus of my practice remains juvenile law.

John Mallios completed his Doctorate of Juris Prudence from Salmon P. Case, College of Law in 1978. After his successful completion of the Texas Bar Exam, he became a licensed attorney in all state and federal courts in all districts in the state of Texas in May of 1979.

For over 40 years, John C. Mallios & Associates has successfully represented business organizations and various plaintiffs in Texas and other states throughout the country. Various media publications, including Mealey's Litigation Reporter, have recognized John C. Mallios & Associates for the successful representation of businesses and individuals.

Theresa Dawson is Senior Counsel a Carter Arnett. Theresa’s practice is focused primarily on high stakes intellectual property and complex commercial litigation. Theresa has represented numerous clients in federal courts around the country in intellectual property disputes involving a wide range of technologies, including e-commerce, computer software, encryption, telecommunications, network architecture, and mobile applications. Theresa’s intellectual property litigation practice has also involved multiple appeals, including arguing cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Federal Circuits.
