After serving as law clerk on the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals for two years, entered private practice of law in 1972. Practice includes transactional commercial and residential real estate, small business, wills and estate planning, and franchising law.

My clients are business owners who are concerned that they are not complying with employment laws. I work with them to create policies, procedures, and manuals and provide training, investigations, and counseling regarding hiring, firing, and compliance with employment laws. I also work with business owners who want to start, buy, operate, or sell a business or a commercial real estate property.

As a Texan with a large family, a passion for travel and entrepreneurship, familiarity with the ins and outs of moving and renting, and experience with the "dark side" of probate when family members pass without any estate plan, I built Zapalac Law Firm, PLLC, around my own history: we focus on landlord/tenant law, estate planning, probate, business creation and administration, and real estate transactions.
