I have been representing clients in connection with estate planning and tax matters for almost 30 years. I focus first on understanding the client's objectives. I spend time learning about my client's goals, their family and their values. While tax savings is always an important objective, I do not let that be the sole determining factor when we design the plan together. In 1985, I graduated from Washington & Lee University School of Law where I served on the Law Review. Upon graduation I worked in the commercial litigation department of a large Atlantic City law firm until my departure in 1991 to form Markwardt & Katkocin, P.C., in Voorhees, New Jersey. I began my solo practice in 1994 and since then I have concentrated on estate planning, estate administration, and estate litigation; as well as contracts; business law; negligence; and real estate purchase and sale agreements.
