I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University and Duquesne University School of Law. I am also a licensed PA Notary, Title Insurance Agent and Real Estate Broker. Joseph Alexander Paletta was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. After graduating cum laude from Washington & Lee University in Virginia in 1982, he returned to Pittsburgh, achieving his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University Law School in 1985. His father, Leonard J. Paletta, was a highly respected trial lawyer in Pittsburgh in the 1950s, ‘60s, and ‘70s, and was the inspiration for Joseph becoming a lawyer. I am a criminal trial attorney who has handled thousands of cases ranging from traffic, DUI, sex and drug offences, to money laundering, wire fraud and homicide. I also deal with issues relating to the defense of Title IX charges. Many of my clients hold professional licenses ( doctors, nurses, pilots, insurance agents) and thus my experience extends to administrative proceedings and the collateral impact of criminal charges or conviction on licensure.
