Prior to starting his own criminal defense firm, Mr. DeKrey worked as a Federal Public Defender in Fargo, North Dakota, handling over 450 cases. His caseload primarily included alleged drug possession and distribution, illegal gun possession, noncitizen illegal reentry, child sexual abuse imagery, and supervised release violations. He also handled cases originating on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation and the Spirit Lake Dakota Reservation, including alleged murder, manslaughter, sexual assault, assault, arson, and others. I have been licensed in North Dakota since 2011. I primarily work on real estate, probate, oil and gas, and business matters. I do municipal contract work for the City of Williston and City of Stanley. I sit on the Mountain States Legal Foundation as the Vice-Chair of the Litigation Advisory Council. I teach courses at Williston State College and am a member of the North Dakota Inquiry Committee West, an ethics advisory board.
