Michael Kolb was born and raised in Newburgh, New York and is a graduate of Chestnut Street School, North Junior High School, Newburgh Free Academy, Cornell University and Columbia University Law School. He has extensive experience working in policy making positions at every level of government, including the local level, the state level, and the federal level, and served as the liaison between the Department of Defense and the American Bar Association from 2010 through 2011.

Shawn graduated from SUNY University at Buffalo Law School with honors. After practicing at a specialized Syracuse law firm he joined the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office in Syracuse, New York. There, Shawn honed his trial advocacy skills in the Special Victims Bureau and the Violent Crimes Bureau.
