Ms. Simmons earned her bachelor’s degree in political science at Central Michigan University, where she attended on a CMU Honors Scholarship. She earned her juris doctor from Cooley Law School, where she was on the Cooley Law Review, the Honor Roll and the Dean’s List. She also received the American Jurisprudence Award for excellence in Advocacy and Products Liability. Throughout her legal career, Ms. Simmons has played an active role in both the State Bar Association and the Oakland County Bar Association, where she served as chairperson of the Criminal Law Committee.
