Tim Slais graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. In 1995, he became a Michigan State Police Trooper, and he was assigned to the South Haven Post where he investigated both traffic and criminal complaints. After being shot in the line of duty, Tim retired from the State Police in 2005, and he went on to study law at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Since 1976 he has been in private practice at Kalamazoo County, Michigan, as well as appearing in cases in the State of Ohio, State of Texas, State of Florida and elsewhere.

He now practices with CLA/Conlon Law Associates at Portage, Michigan in a boutique law practice, successfully handling general family cases including divorces, custody disputes, real estate matter along with estate and trust drafting and associated litigation matters.

My practice is varied and litigation oriented and includes almost four decades of experience. I am admitted to practice in all Michigan state courts; the Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the Northern District of Indiana, and the Federeal Bankruptcy Court in Northern Kentucky; and the Supreme Court of the United States. My real estate practice has included considerable work in the area of Condominium Law besides work in title issues, transfers, and development matters.
