I have been practicing law for 28 years with a focus on criminal law for 26 of those years. I have been a public defender in Clark, Floyd, Harrison and Orange counties. I practice in those counties as well as Scott, Crawford, Washington, Jefferson. I am also licensed in Kentucky, practicing only in Jefferson county on that side of the river. I have handled murder cases as well as all other high level felony matters. I also handle low level felonies, misdemeanors and traffic infraction cases. I am a trial attorney with plenty of trial experience.

Attorney Justin T. Bowen received his law degree from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law, where he was named Law Student of the Year in 2004. Mr. Bowen has served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable L. Mark Bailey of the Indiana Court of Appeals, and has worked for one of the largest defense law firms in the Midwest, where he practiced toxic torts litigation and defended industrial manufacturers. Jessie A. Cook represents individuals accused of major felonies in state and federal courts. She graduated from IU Maurer School of Law (1979, cum laude), the National College of Criminal Defense and the Darrow College of Capital Defense. She teaches advanced trial advocacy at the Maurer School of Law- Bloomington, and for various continuing legal education programs including the Federal Defender Organization, the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and ICLEF’s Trial Advocacy Skills College. Travis focuses on labor and employment law, business law, and estate planning. He’s licensed to practice law in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. Travis graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he made Dean’s List seven terms and was a Law Journal executive editor. He and his wife Betsie, a public school teacher, live in Bloomington, Indiana, with their four children. Much of their free time is spent working on their small family farm.
