Roya was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and returned to her hometown after several years of practicing family law in Austin, Texas. While in law school at the University of Texas, Roya focused her studies on domestic violence and international human rights law. There, she gained a passion for empowering people and concentrated her work on matters regarding international family law. Roya was then awarded the 2020 Mike A. Mary was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas before attending the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate education. While there, Mary earned dual degrees in English and government, ultimately graduating summa cum laude. Mary returned to Lubbock in pursuit of a legal education and received her Juris Doctor degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. As a law student, Mary cultivated her legal experience by participating in Texas Tech Law Review and serving as a qualified student representative in the Texas Tech Family Law Clinic.
