My office was founded in Millersburg, Dauphin County in 1951 by Attorney Allen Shaffer. Since I joined the Firm in 1999, I took over as managing partner in 2001 and later as sole shareholder in 2006. The office has expanded from a two lawyer firm to a four attorney firm and moved to Harrisburg. We handle a variety of legal areas, including Family Law, Divorce, Child Custody, Criminal Law, Municipal Law, and Educational Law.

I was born and raised in New York and attended law school in central Pennsylvania. I have more than 12 years of experience trying cases in courts throughout the Harrisburg region, including 75+ criminal jury trials, and hundreds of criminal and family law hearings. I have also had the privilege of successfully arguing cases before the Pennsylvania Superior Court, and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, some of which resulted in published opinions which changed or created new law. I focus on helping my clients resolve family disputes privately and respectfully without having the court system impose outcomes on them. I believe that most people are best capable of making decisions for themselves and their families. I also act as a mediator, helping parties reach agreements without going to court. I want my clients to be fully informed of all their options for handling family disputes so they can make informed decisions. I also prepare prenuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and estate plans.

While my main practice is family law, I specialize in alternative dispute resolution, equitable distribution, child custody, child and spousal support, abuse and domestic relations.
