Jon was born September 14, 1980. He is the son of the late, Perry Mitchell Welborn and Patricia Poteat Welborn of southeastern Wilkes County. Jon’s father, Perry, was an independent insurance agent in N. Wilkesboro. Perry worked for a number of years as a top selling agent for Farm Bureau prior to opening his own insurance company. Melissa Gustafson chose to become a family attorney for the opportunity to help families achieve good outcomes and to establish healthy co-parenting that supports child development. He is well-versed in cases surrounding child custody, child support, postseparation support, alimony, equitable distribution, and, if necessary, domestic violence protective orders. He has a wealth of courtroom experience and is prepared to handle litigation; however, he understands that oftentimes non-litigation is the correct choice financially and emotionally, and will guide his clients through the most beneficial route for their specific circumstances.
