I was born and raised in Indiana but have called San Diego home since moving here to attend law school. Prior to attending law school, I served eight years in the military as an active duty member of the U.S. Coast Guard. I graduated with high honors from Davenport University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. I gained a passion for family law while working at a veteran’s legal assistance clinic during law school. Kandy received a BA in Sociology and and California Teaching Credential from San Diego State University. She received a Masters degree in Counseling from Chapman College. Prior to becoming an attorney she worked as a Probation Officer and Social Worker with children involved in the Juvenile Court related to child abuse and neglect. Kandy's primary area of practice is Juvenile Dependency, representing all parties including parents, relatives and foster parents. Additonally she works in the areas of Family Law, Guardianships, Adoptions, Restraining Orders and Paternity Actions.

Julia Schneider received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas, with a double major in Spanish and Latin American Studies. After graduation, Ms. Schneider moved to Barranquilla, Columbia where she taught fifth grade science and language arts at a bilingual school. After teaching in Columbia, Ms. Schneider entered California Western School of Law as a Trustee’s Scholar.
