He moved to Alpine, Texas for college, and graduated in three years, and met his wife who is from Marion, Texas. He then moved to Michigan for law school, and graduated in only two years. Adam was practicing law by the age of 24, in Bexar, Comal, and Guadalupe County.

After serving as law clerk on the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals for two years, entered private practice of law in 1972. Practice includes transactional commercial and residential real estate, small business, wills and estate planning, and franchising law.
