Hilary Vrem has been practicing law in San Diego for since 2005, joining the Bolander Law Group in 2010. Her practice focuses primarily on trust litigation, employment matters, adoptions, and estate planning. Like Lori, Hilary is adopted, so she, too, is passionate about this area of law and is honored to assist couples in starting and expanding their families.

Andrew Hillier is an experienced employment law litigator representing employees throughout California. He has helped plaintiffs navigate prosecution of claims for wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage theft, rest and meal break violations, and whistleblower retaliation.

In addition to his legal practice, Andrew is an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law where he teaches trial advocacy techniques. When he isn’t working to protect the rights of workers or training law students, Andrew enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, football, and playing with his dog, Harley.

Sydney D. Finlay is an Associate at Miller Shah LLP’s San Diego office. She earned her law degree from the University of Washington School of Law, where she developed her legal acumen while serving as a Summer Clerk with the Washington State Office of the Attorney General’s Civil Rights Division. Following graduation, she furthered her experience by clerking for the Snohomish County Superior Court. Committed to public service, Sydney volunteers as a Case Manager for the Immigrant Family Advocacy Project and has also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for the King County Family Law Court. I am an employment and general business attorney with experience in transactional and litigation work. In my transactional practice, I advise businesses regarding contract interpretation, compliance with laws, and draft business related agreements. I audit businesses for compliance with federal and state employment laws, develop preventive policies, handbooks, employment agreements, and other employment documents to avoid employment claims and litigation. In my litigation practice, I draft pleadings and law in motion, conduct depositions, and attend hearings.
