At the law firm of John R. Jarvis, our mission is to provide excellent legal counsel in the practice areas of criminal law, estate planning, wills, trust and probate law, family law. John R. Jarvis has been licensed since 1997 and practiced as a certified public accountant (C.P.A.) before becoming an attorney. The financial background does provide an insight into the financial aspects of all areas of law. John B. Runge has been representing Texans in crisis since 1982, and has vast experience in litigating complex cases throughout the State of Texas.

I hold Board Certification in Family Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. My legal practice is centered around child custody issues, divorce proceedings, modification suits, as well as premarital and postmarital agreements, among other family-law related matters. While I advocate for amicable resolutions, I am a strong and strategic advocate for my clients' rights. I take a solution-oriented approach and enjoy crafting creative strategies, especially in cases involving children. I primarily serve clients in Dallas, Denton, Tarrant, and Collin Counties.

Barrett comes from a family that has long been a part of the East Texas area. Barrett was born and raised in Tyler. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and played catcher for the school’s baseball team. After high school, Barrett attended Texas A&M University where he earned a degree in Sociology as well as a minor in Business. Right after graduating from Texas A&M, Barrett attended South Texas College of Law. Karen A. Alexander is a graduate of Baylor University, School of Law. Mrs. Alexander is the owner of Alexander & Associates and specializes in criminal cases. Since opening her own law office, Ms. Alexander has successfully negotiated and tried criminal cases in both County Courts and District Courts throughout Denton, Dallas and Tarrant Counties. A prosecutor has described Ms. Alexander as "a damn good lawyer" and a Judge commented that Ms. Alexander demonstrated superior trial skills and even went so far as to discuss the quality of Ms. Alexander's closing argument with other defense lawyers in chambers.
