I have been practicing Family Law for over four years and I enjoy helping people through the difficult times in their lives. I began practicing family law to help children with disabilities and their families. I now help all types of families through custody disputes and divorces by focusing on the needs of the children and the concerns of the parents. My goal is to help the families work together not just during the current difficulties but also in the future.

I was born in Roswell, NM in 1956 and completed my 12th grade at Stavanger American School in Stavanger, Norway in June 1974. I graduated with a B.S. in Criminal Justice Theory and Research, along with a minor in Government from Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas in May 1978. During my time there, I was elected to the National Political Science Honor Society in 1977. Roya was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and returned to her hometown after several years of practicing family law in Austin, Texas. While in law school at the University of Texas, Roya focused her studies on domestic violence and international human rights law. There, she gained a passion for empowering people and concentrated her work on matters regarding international family law. Roya was then awarded the 2020 Mike A.
