I have been in practice for over 35 years and have handled matter sin various areas of practice including Family law, Divorce, Wills and Estate administration, Real estate closings and Criminal/traffic. Stephen K. Underwood is a Buffalo New York lawyer that practices in the New York State and Federal Court systems. Mr. Underwood is a graduate of the Binghamton University School of Management with a concentration in Finance (B.S. 1992) and obtained his Juris Doctorate from OCU School of Law in 1997. Mr. Underwood was duly licensed and admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1998.

I have been practicing law in Monroe County, New York and the western New York area for the past 8 years. Prior to Monroe County, my experience includes the following: private practice in the State of Maryland, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the firm of Clegg and Kaplan in Kingston, New York. I handle family law matters (such as divorce, separation, and QDROs), injuries, consumer law (such as harassment by debt collectors, deceptive practices, consumer class actions, and foreclosure defense), contracts, civil litigation, appeals, and other matters.

I have been working with families throughout the years first as a researcher, then as a social work intern in family interventions and legal intern in mental health and family court, and now as an attorney. I believe in helping folks with what they are faced with now but with an understanding that there is a future to plan and making sure they are prepared.
