I have been licensed to practice law since 1987. I have tried over 400 jury trials from DUI's to First Degree Murder. I am licensed throughout the State of Florida and the Middle District of Florida for federal cases.

Clay Smith has a very diverse background, having grown up in Florida, California, and Iran. Clay attended high school in Stockton, California (Benjamin Franklin) and in Jacksonville, Florida (Ed White and Douglas Anderson School of the Arts). After high school he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served honorably for 5+ years until his humanitarian discharge to provide living assistance for his younger brother, also a Marine, who broke his neck and was rendered quadriplegic. I was born and raised in Tampa, where I attended Thomas Jefferson High School and earned a certificate from the International Academy of Law and Criminal Justice. My academic journey led me to Florida State University, where I pursued an undergraduate degree in Communications. During my time at FSU, I was actively involved in the Black Student Union Political Action Committee, Golden Key Honor Society, National Society for Collegiate Scholars, and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society.
