I have been practicing law in Washington State since 1980. I was born in Tokyo, raised in California, and graduated from Stanford University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts with distinction. After obtaining my law degree from the University of Washington Law School in 1980, I practiced law in Seattle for seven years. I have dedicated my career to defending the accused. I have argued cases before the Washington Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Superior Courts, District Courts and Municipal Courts. I have tried over 35 felony cases to verdict. I have handled cases ranging from DUI to murder and sexual assault. I am highly competitive and hate losing. After nine years as a public defender trying cases in King and Snohomish counties, I spent another eight years supervising lawyers in the King County public defender's office teaching attorneys the nuances of legal advocacy and trial practice. Jacqueline Porter's passion for the law began with a degree in Criminal Justice in 1997. She went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law. She has a demonstrated record of success in jury trials, bench trials, and administrative hearings.
