Bill Smith represents seriously injured individuals throughout Idaho, focusing on catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases. A lifelong Idaho resident, Smith was born in Twin Falls, raised in Kimberly, and graduated from Kimberly High School in 1992. He earned Eagle Scout rank with a library fundraising project and worked his way through college.
Smith graduated from the University of Idaho with a B.S. in Political Science (1997) and J.D. (1999), serving on Idaho Law Review. He clerked for the Honorable J. William Hart, participating in dozens of jury trials throughout Idaho's Fifth Judicial District. Judge Hart later married Bill and Ellen Smith in 2001.
After practicing insurance defense at Benoit Alexander (2000-2003) and construction law at Trout Jones Gledhill Fuhrman (2003-2007), Smith founded Smith Horras, P.A. in 2007 to represent "real people who need help". The firm specializes in catastrophic injury cases with over 80 years combined legal experience.
Smith is admitted to all Idaho courts, U.S. District Court for Idaho, and U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He maintains active memberships in the American Association for Justice, Idaho Trial Lawyers Association, and Idaho State Bar.
Smith's approach to legal practice is deeply influenced by his upbringing in rural Idaho and his understanding of the challenges facing ordinary families. This empathy drives his unwavering advocacy for clients who have suffered serious injuries and need someone to fight for their rights.
Smith is married to attorney Ellen N. Smith, and together they have built Smith Horras into one of Idaho's premier personal injury firms. His practice philosophy reflects his rural Idaho values: treating clients like family members while fighting tirelessly for justice
