- Current
I began practicing law in Springfield Illinois in 1981. In 2000, my partner became a judge, and I have been solo since that time. I formerly took on virtually any case. But the law has now grown too complicated for me to be "all things to all people". As a result, I limit my practice to a few areas, and I know the law in those areas quite well.

Legal Answers
559 Questions Answered
Q. What are my chances of reducing an aggravated DUI felony to a misdemeanor? (Lake County, IL)
A: Oh, good move involving your IDPFR lawyer in an early stage.

This is the type of thing that varies significantly between counties. Find an experienced Lake County DUI attorney. Not only that, but the attorney will be aware of all the information that the state has. There’s too much at stake for you to be trying to navigate this through an online forum. That being said, I hope everything comes out fine.
Q. How to proceed legally after driving with a suspended license and DUI accusations without being pulled over?
A: You say you received six months of probation. I think you mean you were suspended for six months?

If so, the suspension does not end just with the passage of time. You also have to pay the $250 reinstatement fee to the secretary of state to fully terminate the suspension.

You should do that immediately and then hire an attorney. This is too much for you to handle on the forum such as this one. And since I do not practic anywhere near Chicago, I have no financial interest in recommending that you obtain an attorney. Good luck.
Q. How can I handle my kids' father's request for summer visitation amid safety concerns?
A: Smart Start can rent him a portable certified breath machine for $34.00 a month. A visitation order might be fashioned around that. I has facial recognition so only if it saw his face would accept the blow.
