Tanya Shimer has been practicing law in Boulder County for over 25 years. Her solo practice focuses on estate planning, probate, and small business representation. In 2012 she became a certified mediator and works with both family law and business clients to resolve disputes equitably. She is an attorney who puts her clients first. Whether its estate planning, business representation or mediation her goal is to make sure her clients receive impeccable legal representation. She understands that legal planning is challenging on many levels, and that each person's situation is unique. She informs and empowers her clients so that their legal planning reflects their life-long needs and aspirations.

In addition to being an award winning attorney, Tanya also teaches yoga and helps run a nonprofit meditation center in Boulder. She is a certified life coach and in 2023 became a certified Compassionate Inquiry facilitator. She is well versed in Nonviolent Communication, trauma-informed therapies, and other modalities to help her clients cut through the distractions and get to the essence of their legal needs.
