Biography

Q. I'm in desperate need of a pro bono attorney for family law child custody, in Palm Desert CA. Please help.
A: Check with your county bar association if they have a volunteer attorney program where someone might be able to help you.
Q. been legally separated since sept. 28, 2017....suppose to get husbands pension in lew of allimomy.
A: You would probably have to go through QDRO - Qualified Domestic Relations Order. It's a process where you would need a court ordered QDRO and then send it to the pension plan administrator, before they can release the funds. Yes, it's advisable to hire an attorney.
Q. I have a court ordered for spousal support. My X hasn't paid over a year. How do I collect? I don't have $ for attorney.
A: First you need to get a judgment and then there are various ways to collect court ordered spousal support such as wage garnishment, bank account levy, seizing property/assets. You should contact your county bar association and they might have a volunteer attorney program where someone can help you free of cost.
