Ryan M. Newburn’s practice areas include corporate formations, corporate governance, commercial contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, energy and natural resource law and contract general counsel services. Ryan’s clients have ranged from startups to billion dollar established enterprises and he has served as a key executive in numerous companies including as Vice President and General Counsel of ARB Midstream, LLC, Chief Commercial Officer and General Counsel of Black Canyon Midstream, LLC, contract General Counsel of Taproot Energy Partners, LLC and Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of American Midstream Partners, LP (NYSE: AMID).
Mentored by the titans of corporate law during his time at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, Ryan has successfully consummated over $16 billion in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; closed over $13 billion in debt and equity financings; and negotiated hundreds purchase and sale, non-disclosure, master service, employment, license, letter and similar agreements. This first-hand experience, combined with his knowledge of corporate law and his formal business education, has earned Ryan the trust of investors, executive teams and boards of directors nationwide.
Ryan received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the James E. Rogers School of Law, at the University of Arizona, where he was Articles Editor for the Arizona Law Review and Captain of the Jessup International Moot Court Team. Ryan also has an MBA, from the Eller School of Management, a B.S. in Agricultural and Resource Economics and B.A.s in Philosophy and Economics, from the University of Arizona.
