Summary

Roy L. Reeves grew up north central Arkansas before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. After several years of military service, including three years serving as the Legal Chief and Adjutant for Battalion level command Roy set out to become an attorney. After graduating with honors from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock he moved to Waco, Texas to attend Baylor Law School after-which he joined a small firm in Killeen with focus on consumer bankruptcy, criminal defense, and family law. During this time, he learned to be comfortable with courtroom procedures and gained an understanding of how to present cases to both judges and jurors by completing several jury trials and countless bench trials. In 2003 Roy joined DeHay & Elliston where he applied these skills in complex litigation representing several fortune 50 companies in products and premises liability issues.

Since 2008 Roy has managed Reeves Law Firm handling a diverse docket of Civil, Criminal, and family law litigation and appeals as well as representation of pilots before the FAA and NTSB. He also serves as contract General Counsel for several small companies engaged in finance, oil & gas holdings, and aviation.During this time he tried multiple jury trial cases to completion and countless non-jury trial cases, including family and criminal cases ranging from DWI and Assault to Murder. He has also successfully appealed multiple civil matters and eight criminal cases to the 5th Court of Appeals and even argued one of only two cases in Texas history in which the Appellate Court rendered a double reversal on a capital murder. He is a member of the prestigious College of the State Bar of Texas and handles both family and criminal cases in Collin, Dallas, and Denton counties.

During his free time, Roy is a pilot, marksman and motorcycle enthusiast , but his true passion lies in his community service where he serves in a leadership role for The Plano Rotary Club.
