- I worked in Public Safety and Criminal Appeals, defending Missouri state convictions. While at the AG's Office, in 2007 I drafted an amicus curiae brief for the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of Missouri and 20 other states -- a brief whose legal argument was embraced by the U.S. Supreme Court. I also was a member of the briefing team in a merits case in the U.S. Supreme Court.
- Associate Attorney
- Paul Schramm, Partner at Edwards Scramm Watkins, Et Al.
- -
- Mr. Schramm, a former trial-practice instructor at Harvard Law School, was a distinguished attorney practicing in Clayton, Missouri. The practice ranged from the quotidian (e.g., simple wills, dissolution of marriage actions, etc.) to the complex (e.g., preparing estate tax returns). My accomplishments include drafting a petition that successfully challenged the constitutional of a state registration statute and affirming on appeal a six-figure punitive damages award in a tort action.
- Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Judge Harold Lowenstein
- Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District
- -
- My responsibilities included reading appellate briefs in civil and criminal cases, reviewing transcripts and legal files, doing legal research, drafting bench memorandums for Judge Lownestein, attending oral arguments, and, most important of all, writing draft opinions for Judge Lowenstein.
