A: Who is saying this? The courts or the domestic violence program? California Penal Code 1203.097 contains the requirements for domestic violence programs, including the 52 week duration. The program may not be willing to adjust the California requirements to fit your Arizona sentence. I would start by checking with your attorney in Arizona. If you can get a successful progress report from the California program after 26 sessions, the Arizona court might accept that as successful completion, or your attorney may be able to negotiate with the program provider for a shorter term.
